In the picture, posted by costume supervisor Brenda Maben, McCarthy is seen in full Sookie garb, alongside co-star Yanic Truesdale, who’s reprising his role as Michel Gerard.

The photo is the first piece evidence that McCarthy will be part of the four-part series “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life,” which is set to premiere sometime this year. After much back-and-forth on whether McCarthy would return to the “Gilmore Girls” reboot (she had originally said she was not asked to return), the comedy superstar confirmed her reprisal this April on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” saying: “Literally about an hour and half ago we figured out that I’m gonna go back and do it and I am so excited.”
While Sookie’s storyline details have not been revealed, McCarthy is one of many original cast members to return to the hotly anticipated project. She joins Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Rose Abdoo, Sally Struthers, Kelly Bishop, Milo Ventimiglia, David Sutcliffe, Jared Padalecki, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil, Sean Gunn, Keiko Agena, Danny Strong, Vanessa Marano and Truesdale.

McCarthy starred in all seven seasons of “Gilmore Girls,” before heading into A-list territory, as star of CBS’s sitcom “Mike & Molly,” which ended its six-season run this year, and as a leading box office lady. Most recently, she toplined “The Boss” and “Spy,” and coming up is the female-driven “Ghosbusters” reboot.

One middle-aged man wrote how he hoped she might be “torn apart by hyenas,” while a woman suggested the girl should be hunted down and shot herself.
In the wake of the backlash, Gourdin acknowledged the profile picture of the giraffe was “offensive to others,” but claimed the money spent on her hunts goes back into conservation.
“We hunters need to stand together no matter what we are hunting, as long as it is 100 percent legal,” she added.

“To talk down to or condemn any kind of hunting only hurts us all. In the end if we all want to continue hunting this is necessary.”
